A good app for reading ebooks

Good for:

Those who can be bothered to download and save .ePub titles

How it works:

As the name suggests, this e-reader works for .ePub files. You go to books in the Library tab of the app, where titles can be added from the file manager or the memory card. When reading, clicking left or right lets you turn the pages. Or you could jump to specific chapters by browsing the contents page.

The good:

The books list can display pretty covers or title pages, so the app looks good.

The settings are simple and elegant, focusing on what’s key for small-screen reading.

Reading can be adjusted for night or day — with black text on white or the other way round — and typeface can be serif or sans serif.

Starting the app brings up a fresh excerpt from a well-known novel.

The all-important font size can also be adjusted.

The bad:

Nothing. But if you prefer the feel and smell of pages made of paper, maybe give this a miss.
