Guess the Footballer

A quiz for football fans

Good for:

Testing your knowledge as a football fan.

How it works:

The game shows you an image of a football player and gives you some black dots representing the letters of the name. You must fill the dots using randomised letters provided.

The good:

It can be intriguing to guess the name of the lesser known players. The controls are intuitive to use, just the directional buttons and the center button.

The bad:

The levels are straight up linear, no replay value. So there’s no point playing the game more than once, as your level won’t change.

The pictures of the footballer are not well optimized for the screen (not in the proper aspect ratio). If you do not know the footballers, you can skip the level but the process is harder than it should be . You would need to return to the main menu, go to the Levels menu, find the level you need to skip, then press Skip. There are 300 levels in there, with the screen showing 5 columns and 8 rows at a time. The game could have provided a key for players to skip the level directly as they are playing it.

The controls can somehow stop working altogether, which needs a reinstall to fix. The game does not have any sound effects or music at all.
