Internet and digital skills educational resources

Good for:

Picking up basic digital skills and learning about the internet

How it works:

This app offers step by step instructions to develop basic digital skills and even has a good glossary of internet vocabulary for those new to the internet.

The Digital Skills category consists of modules arranged in order of complexity. Each module has submodules, which have content presented on a webpage.

The good:

Topics chosen are relevant and useful to a newcomer to the internet, such as what is the internet, how to connect to the internet and explore websites, how to use mobile applications (apps) and social media, and how to stay safe online.

Very useful are the sections on getting a job, starting a business and managing your money.

The bad:

The app could be greatly improved by hosting some content offline, especially since most of it is text with low storage requirements.

The content is presented in large paragraphs, which may look overwhelming or uninteresting to beginners.

Also, this app doesn’t work without wifi or data.
