Good for:

Those who want to learn and practice chess strategies

How it works:

When you open the app, use the D-Pad to navigate the chess tiles on the chessboard. When you’ve landed on the chess piece of your choice, press the mic button to select it. The tiles your selected chess piece can land on will be highlighted in yellow. Navigate to one of these yellow tiles and press the mic button to move the chess piece there. Take turns with your computer opponent. To win, you’ll have to capture the opponent’s king chess piece.

If you’re up for a challenge, press ‘Menu’ on the bottom right corner to change the game mode to ‘Fast chess’, a chess game with a 5-minute time limit. There is also an ‘Auto chess’ option, where you can watch an automated game.

The good:

Kobi found that the highlighted yellow tiles that show where your chess piece can land and ‘Auto chess’ mode are great for novice chess players!

The bad:

It would be helpful to label or announce the names of chess pieces for complete beginners.
