Short-term rain forecasts, but with flaws in functionality.
When you first open the app, it will ask for permission to access your location. Select ‘Allow’.
It will then show your location on a map. Press the + key to zoom in and the – key to zoom out.
There will be a time displayed, as well as a raindrop icon and a red circle. The time indicates when the rain will happen. For example, 15:20 means there will be rain in 15 minutes and 20 seconds.
The raindrop icon indicates the intensity of the rainfall, out of 10.
The red circle indicates how much of the circled area on the map will receive rainfall. A full red circle indicates that rain will fall throughout the entire area.
You can choose the time format and unit in ‘Settings→ Display’.
You can set an alarm to alert you for when rain is coming in ‘Settings→Alarm’ and choosing your time frame and how sensitive you want the rain alarm to be.
Choose ‘Settings→Location’ to select if the app receives your location automatically via geolocation or by manually choosing in the location.
If there is a light grey overlay on the map, it means there is temporarily no radar coverage. If there is a dark grey overlay, it means there is permanently no radar coverage.
When Kobi tested this app on 14 February 2023, Kobi’s location was accurately identified on the map. A time value also appeared to show when rainfall would happen.
However, there was no raindrop icon to indicate the intensity of the rainfall.
There was also no red circle or partial red circle to indicate what part of the area would be affected.
Also, there were play/pause, power on/off and fwd and back buttons that appeared under the time value, but there was no information in the ‘Help’ section to explain what these buttons were for. Kobi tried pressing the pause button and the time value stopped moving. Kobi didn’t find these buttons intuitive. Some instructions would be good.
