Good for:

Those who’ve always wanted to know the story in the epic poem but never got down to reading it

How it works:

This app provides elegant summaries of each of the 18 chapters of the Bhagavad Gita (“Song of God” in Sanskrit). The Bhagavad Gita itself is an episode of dialogue between Prince Arjuna and Krishna, an incarnation of the god, Vishnu, that’s part of the Sanskrit poem, the Mahabharata. The teachings in each chapter are relayed in comprehensive, succinct detail and written so you are drawn into the story. The content is all text, and the white font on a dark blue background makes for restful contrast for the eye. The font type is also pleasing to look at. The app’s listing on the KaiOS site says in the next version, full verses from all 18 chapters will be added.

The good:

Elegant, succinct storytelling of one of the oldest tales.

The bad:

Nothing bad, but some illustrations to accompany the excellent text would be great.
