Good for:

Learning about what vitamins do for the body and sources of specific vitamins.

How it works:

The app opens to show a visual menu of the various vitamins, from A to K. Clicking on each vitamin will tell you what that vitamin is responsible for in the body (for example, good immunity) and food sources of this vitamin. It will also tell you how this vitamin is destroyed (high temperatures, for example). The last section tells you the recommended amount of the vitamin to have each day, and an example of how much of a particular food will provide this.

The good:

Each vitamin section opens with a very attractive photo of a food source of the vitamin. The text is laid out in clear, easy to read sections and navigating the app was intuitive.

The bad:

It would be great if the app listed a variety of examples of food that provide the daily recommended amount. Some examples aren’t suited to vegetarians or vegans, or the foods might not be easily available, for instance, 5 mg of vitamin B5 = 100g of mutton liver. Kobi doesn’t eat mutton liver, yikes!
