Good for:

Those who are exploring ways to meditate

How it works:

Read the terms and conditions when you open the app – if you are epileptic, this app is not for you as the app flashes bright-coloured backgrounds often. Once you’re ready, press the mic button to start. A circle will be displayed at the centre of your screen. The circle will expand and contract. There are syllables like ‘ham’ ‘yam’ and ‘ram’ written on the circle. You have to say the syllables as you exhale. Make sure to read the ‘Info’ option on the bottom right, which will tell you what the syllables in the circle are for and how long the exercise will last. This will help make the app less confusing.

The good:

Even though Kobi feels little effect from the app, he learnt a new way of practising mindfulness!

The bad:

While you meditate, the colours shown on the screen are far from calming – they are often bright red, lime green, and vivid orange! Kobi thought it might be better with calming music too.
